AITA? If you have to ask …

Flash Fiction Online, October 2021 issue with my AITA story

Flash Fiction Online’s October 2021 issue, including my Reddit-inspired AITA story.

A little late on posting this, but Flash Fiction Online published one of my stories in its October issue — and this story is perfect for the spooky month. It’s called “AITA for Using My Side Hustle to Help My Boyfriend Escape the Clutches of Death?”, and was inspired by, yes, the AITA posts on Reddit.

People who post on Reddit’s AITA want to hear, “No, of COURSE YOU’RE NOT THE ASSHOLE!” But in my completely unscientific view, about 8 of 10 posters are indeed TA. I’m not sure if my character is TA, but given that her side hustle leads to a zombie uprising, it’s fair to argue that she is. On the other hand, these zombies could be the solution to climate change, so … maybe she’s NTA?

Flash Fiction Online was my first “pro” fiction sale (back in 2015 with “Death Comes for the Microbot”) and so I naturally have a soft spot for the publication — not to mention they publish some amazing flash fiction, which is its own art form.
