About Aimee

I’m a business reporter with CBS MoneyWatch and a former reporter for Bloomberg News. Before joining CBS, I freelanced for more than a decade, with my work appearing publications including USA Today, Consumer Reports, The Boston Globe and MSN Money.

The stories that are closest to my heart are about income and wealth inequality, aging and retirement, and women balancing work both in and out of the home.

I also write science fiction and fantasy short stories. My fiction has appeared in Podcastle, Fireside, Flash Fiction Online and Daily Science Fiction, among other publications. I'm a graduate of Viable Paradise, member of the writing group Codex and a full member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America.

In 2021, my short story “Advanced Word Problems in Portal Math” was a finalist for the Nebula award.

I'm also a recovering classical musician. I graduated from Juilliard Pre-College and The Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester), where I played the viola. I love a good viola joke, but I'll warn you: I've heard them all.
